Welcome to ECO FAWN Society

“Protecting Forests, Restoring Biodiversity, Empowering Communities"

ECO FAWN Society

Founded in 2009, ECO FAWN Society is a grassroots, community-driven NGO working to protect forests, wildlife, biodiversity and human rights while promoting sustainable development and rural empowerment. What began as a movement among passionate youth has evolved into a nationally and internationally recognized organization influencing both policy and practice. Our core mission is to conserve forest ecosystems, promote afforestation, arrest illegal encroachments, and build ecological awareness, especially in vulnerable and underserved regions. We work closely with local communities, educational institutions, and government bodies to restore degraded lands, remove invasive alien species, and secure ecological justice. ECO FAWN holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC (since 2017) and is accredited as an Observer NGO with UNEP (2024) and UNCCD (2025). These recognitions allow us to actively participate in global dialogues on climate change, biodiversity loss, land degradation and Human Rights. From halting 16.21 lakh hectares of forest land encroachments to mobilizing youth across rural India for action towards environmental justice, ECO FAWN bridges the gap between grassroots realities and global action. We invite you to explore our work, join our movement, and contribute to building a more resilient, biodiverse, and sustainable future for all.

Our Story

ECO FAWN Society — From rural roots to global impact.
ECO FAWN has grown from a small village initiative in Telangana into a voice for change heard across India and at the United Nations. We protect forests, defend wildlife, uphold human rights, and drive rural development. By advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we work at the intersection of ecology, justice, and community well-being. Through bold campaigns, hands-on restoration, rights advocacy, and policy action, we champion a future where people and nature thrive together.

Afforestation

For ECO FAWN Society, afforestation goes beyond mere plantation—it is a long-term commitment to protecting and nurturing trees until they become thriving forests. The concept emphasizes expansion of tree cover and restoration of degraded lands, ensuring sustainable ecosystems rather than short-lived planting drives. Afforestation means increasing forest land, conserving biodiversity, protecting soil and water resources, and mitigating climate change. ECO FAWN engages local communities as custodians, fostering responsibility and awareness to safeguard new plantations. This holistic approach ensures that every tree planted survives, grows, and contributes to the ecological balance, securing benefits for both nature and future generations.

Association with the United Nations

ECO FAWN Society actively engages in sessions of the United Nations to advocate for the intersection of environmental protection, human rights, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). We raise critical concerns on forest degradation, climate injustice, biodiversity loss, rural livelihoods, and the rights of indigenous and marginalized communities. Our interventions aim to position environmental well-being as a core human rights issue. By contributing to global dialogues, we emphasize that true justice and sustainable peace can only be achieved when ecological balance, social equity, and development go hand in hand.
